2025-2026 Curriculum Frameworks


Basic Skills Requirement

Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) score of 239 in Reading, and 241 in Math are required prior to graduation (some exemptions apply).  


Exemptions from the Basic Skills test are as follows:

  • Graduate of a Florida Public High School from 2007-present with a standard High School Diploma
  • Florida based GED 2014-present
  • College degree from an accredited institution
  • (Official transcripts are needed to verify exemption)


Program Requirements

Students must be at least 18 and have a valid Florida driver's license.


Program Description 

The Master Automotive Services Technology program prepares students to become state-of-the-art automotive technicians who can analyze, repair and maintain high-tech automobiles to manufacturer's specifications. 


Master Automotive Technology uses a computer-managed laboratory and actual hands-on work to train the automotive technicians of the future. The course of study takes students through brakes, suspension and steering, engine performance and repair, automatic transmissions, manual transmissions and drivelines, electrical systems, and air conditioning systems. 


The program and the instructors are ASE Master Certified.    


Certification

Students are prepared to take ASE certification tests, which can be a condition of employment and enable employers to offer better starting salaries.
