Basic Skills Requirement

Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) score of 239 in Reading, and 236 in Math are required prior to graduation (some exemptions apply).  


Exemptions from the Basic Skills test are as follows:

  • Graduate of a Florida Public High School from 2007-present with a standard High School Diploma
  • Florida based GED 2014-present
  • College degree from an accredited institution
  • (Official transcripts are needed to verify exemption)

The program consists of 5 courses:

Information Technology Assistant (150 hours)

Provides an introduction to information technology concepts and careers as well as the impact information technology has on the world, people, and industry, relevant computer skills for the business place, and basic Web design concepts.


Computer Support Technician (150 hours)

Provides training in the basics of installation, support and troubleshooting of computer and printer hardware and operating systems.


Networking Support Technician (150 hours)

This course prepares students to demonstrate proficiency with computer literacy, networking fundamentals, operating systems, network security and administration.


Cloud Analyst (150 hours)

Then, you will understand the building blocks of cloud computing, what cloud computing is and look into popular cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google.


Virtualization Specialist (300 hours)

Install and configure virtualized environments to meet customer needs.
